Steam Box

Yesterday I spent several hours running around town gathering parts to build a steam box for bending wood. I am still missing a large metal gas can which I want to use to hold the water but for now I am going to use an old style pressure cooker I found at Goodwill.

I haven't really decided what exactly I am going to bend the wood for except that I know I want to build an old fashion sled next fall and will definetly use it for bending the ski's. I was sort of bored yesterday because I am completing my fourth wagon and the varnish is a coat it and wait kinda process.

Today I decided I am going to try and tackle the handle (Again). The first handle I screwed up by drilling one of the holes off by about an 1/8th inch. It seems like I always put off the handle or wheels to the very last, it's probably because I don't really enjoy having to bend metal and spray paint.
