My name is Marc and I am a 36 year old Computer Tech. working for a polyurethane manufacturer. I love computers and everything associated with them and up until about six months ago I spent every waking hour expanding my knowledge of just about anything you can think of related to hardware and software.
I don't know if it is because I am getting old or because I am starting to realize that it is impossible to keep up with all the new technologies no matter how much time is spent, but I have decided to start un-plugging so to speak. In an effort to persuade myself to stay unplugged for at least a small portion of my waking hours I have decided to take up woodwoorking.
Working with wood just for the sake of being able to say I can make this or that just doesn't seem very motivating. So in an effort to put some passion into my newly found hobby I decided that I needed a particular type of woodworking project to focus on. At first I thought I would make Finely crafted boxes from Birds Eye Maple or Tiger Maple and indeed I made a few. Boxes just weren't very interesting I decided so I searched for weeks trying to find something a bit more unique and possibly useful at the same time. This search has lead me to wagons, in particular classic coaster style wagons from the early 1900's. That having been decided I also decided it would be nice to have a journal or blog if you will where I can talk about this personal journey and hopefully find some useful feedback that will make designing and building classic wagons for fun.
